OVUM is a UK-based fertility and wellness brand founded in 2021, run by a small but mighty team (fewer than 10 people). We currently have 5 SKUs across fertility supplements (for women and men), and 100% recyclable pregnancy tests. Our target customers are women and men aged 28–45 who are TTC or in early pregnancy. We are currently available in the UK and Ireland, via our own website and select range of high street retailers.
During her own fertility struggles, OVUM’s CEO & founder, Jenny Wordsworth was frustrated with the misinformation and ‘bad science’ of the fertility industry. With the fertility sector lacking products that reflected the best and latest scientific evidence, Jenny felt compelled to set a new standard in reproductive health. She realised the gap: the need for best-in-class products developed with leading IVF Doctors, but also a brand that empowered and supported people through their journey. Jenny swore others going through similar stories would not struggle like she did, and OVUM was born. Today, we’re proud to lead the way in reproductive health, bringing together science, expertise, and genuine care.
The certification process was straightforward for us, in part because we were already using an Informed Certified Manufacturer. We didn't face any challenges, and were not required to make any changes to our product to meet the requirements. The only challenge in the process is the increased lead times for our products whilst we await test results.
We decided to seek out certification to improve customer trust with our new male market, increased sales, team/player sponsorship.
We chose Informed Sport because it’s globally recognised, uses rigorous batch-by-batch testing, and is trusted by healthcare professionals, athletes and major retailers. It helps to provide consumer confidence in the quality and purity of our products.
We have only just received certification, so it's hard to say at this stage, but it has already piqued customer interest, and we are hoping it will help us to secure some high profile brand ambassadors we are looking to work with.
Allow plenty of time for certification and testing so it isn't rushed and doesn't delay launches if you want to launch your product to market with the certification.
