To ensure product safety and consumer trust, Amazon has a regulatory program that must be met to sell supplement products on the Amazon US platform. The process requires sellers to meet specific standards, including manufacturing site GMP compliance and third-party product testing.
All requirements must be verified by one of three specific third-party testing, inspection and certification verifiers (TICs). Details of Amazon’s policy with respect to dietary supplements can be found at Amazon’s Seller Central site.
Amazon’s policy includes the requirement that supplement products classified as sports nutrition/body building, sexual wellness, weight management or joint health must not contain undeclared active pharmaceutical ingredients, demonstrated by undergoing testing for specified known adulterants as outlined in NSF/ANSI 173-2024.
Sellers are free to choose which testing partner (laboratory) they use to meet these testing requirements, so long as the facility is ISO/IEC 17025-accredited. LGC holds accreditation for a wide range of methods, please refer to the UKAS website for our schedule of accreditation (Laboratory accreditation number 1187).
